HOUSTON – BP has confirmed by visual inspection that there is no release of oil from the Macondo well in the Gulf of Mexico. BP also inspected the relief well and got the same report.
Press reports claimed there were oil sheens in the Macondo area. Neither BP nor the US Coast Guard found evidence of any oil sheen in the area after multiple surveys.
