READING, UK – BG Group has signed an operating contract for an exploration license offshore Honduras.

The concession, subject to approval by the Honduran National Congress, will cover an area of about 35,000 sq km (13,513 sq mi).

Elsewhere, BG says a short offshore pipeline section has been installed for the Queensland Curtis LNG Phase 1 project in northeastAustralia.

The 2.3-km (1.4-mi) Narrows Crossing pipeline was laid across Gladstone harbor. It was Australia’s longest large-diameter underwater pipe-pull, BG claims, and the first pipeline to connect Curtis Island with the mainland.

In the UK central North Sea, BG is a partner in the Total-operatedElgin/Franklin area. Three wells are back onstream following a shutdown last March caused by a gas leak on the G4 well. However, pre-shutdown output will probably not be restored until 2015, with new infill wells to be drilled.

In the same sector, all modules have been installed on location at the ConocoPhillips-operatedJasmine project, ahead of schedule. Start-up is scheduled for 4Q 2013.
