TORSHAVN, Faroe Islands – The Faroese government has awarded two offshore exploration licenses to DONG E&P Føroyar PF under its open door procedure.

The licenses cover six full and part-blocks spanning 908 sq km (350 sq mi) in the Judd basin on the southeastern corner of theFaroe continental shelf.

They include the 2001Marjun discovery, which the previous partners relinquished due to operational challenges in the area. Recent analysis suggests a higher permeability than initially measured, the government said.
