LONDONSterling Energy has served notice that it will withdraw from the Ambilobe exploration block offshore Madagascar.

The company has held an interest in the concession since 2004 and last year, as operator, completed a 1,175-sq km (453-sq mi) discretionary 3D survey over the acreage.

Following Sterling’s planned exit this July, Pura Vida Mauritius will be the remaining participant.
