SAN DONATO MILANESE, Italy --Eni says the first batch of export crude oil has been shipped from the onshore processing plant serving the Kashagan field in the Kazakh sector of the Caspian Sea.
Production has recently re-started following successful replacement of damaged pipelines.
Output should ramp up gradually to an initial level of 180,000 b/d, with 370,000 b/d targeted by the end of next year.
Kashagan, with estimated in-place reserves of 35 Bbbl, is in the North Caspian Sea, 80 km (49.7 mi) southeast of Atyrau, Kazakhstan.
Eni has a 16.81% stake in the project. Otherpartners in the consortium are KazMunayGas (16.88%), ExxonMobil (16.81%), Shell (16.81%), Total (16.81%), CNPC (8.33%) and Inpex (7.56%).
