OSLO, Norway – Petroleum Safety Authority Norway has authorized Statoil to use the Huldra platform in North Sea licenses 051 and 052B in a “cold” phase, after the field’s wells have been permanently P&A’d, the casings removed, and the facility permanently shut down.
Huldra is a gas condensate field north of the Oseberg field in the northern Norwegian North Sea in a water depth of 125 m (410 ft).
Production started in 2001 via a wellhead platform with basic process facilities, remotely controlled from Veslefrikk B.
