Wood Group, unions aim to resolve North Sea conflict
Wood Group and the Unite and RMT trade unions have issued a joint statement concerning the current dispute involving workers on Shell facilities in the UK North Sea.
All sides have agreed to restart talks to resolve the dispute, with various full-day meetings planned, starting early next week, to reconsider the issues under contention.
They recognize that the challenges faced in theNorth Sea at present are serious and there is acceptance that change is needed and will happen.
All parties will be given the chance to bring ideas to the table.
In order to create a constructive environment, Wood Group has agreed to halt implementation of its current proposals for the duration of this engagement and in response RMT and Unite have agreed to suspend anyfurther strike action while the talks continue.
