Production on Green Canyon begins

Sept. 9--Murphy Oil will develop its deepwater Quatrain discovery on Green Canyon block 382 in the Gulf of Mexico through a single-well tie-back to the company's Front Runner Spar platform, presently under construction on Green Canyon block 338. Quatrain is estimated to hold 30 MMboe of recoverable reserves. The discovery well was drilled to a measured depth of 25,939 ft and encountered more than 130 net ft of hydrocarbons. Appraisal drilling is expected to run through the first part of 2003. Initial production from the Front Runner/Front Runner South development is slated for the first half of 2004.
