(Trinidad&Tobago)- Bidding rounds in Trinidad & Tobago's 2005 offshore campaign are expected to commence at the end of November, according to the Ministry of Energy and Energy Industries (MEEI). The ministry is awaiting approval for its recommendation from the cabinet, which is expected sometime in early November.

The offshore bidding round consists of three blocks. Marine blocks 2 and 3 are located in 300-400 ft of water off the northwest coast and adjacent to UK company BG's gas producing areas.

The third block, known as 2AB, is off the eastern coast. The MEEI had previously tried to award an exploration contract for block 2AB in the 2003-2004 round, but they did not receive what they felt were satisfactory bids.

Once the tenders are launched, interested parties will have 3-4 months to prepare bid documents.
