(US, GoM) – Knotty Head partners: Nexen, Anadarko, Chevron and BHP Billiton, announced an exploratory discovery and GoM record.
The partners drilled the deepest well to-date at 34,189 ft on the Knotty Head field in Green Canyon block 512 in approximately 3,500 ft of water.
Block operator Nexen says theDiscoverer Spirit is mobilizing to drill a sidetrack well. Additional appraisal work is planned in 2006 to determine the extent of the discovery.
Nexen is the operator of the block with a 25% working interest, and Anadarko, Chevron, and BHP Billiton each hold a 25% stake.
