Sociedade Nacional de Combustíveis de Angola and Total discovered oil in Angola's ultra deep waters block 32 No. 4 well. The well tested 4,724 b/d from a single reservoir.

The well is in the eastern section of block 32, 17 km from the 2003 Gindungo-1 well and 12 km from the 2004 Canela-1 well. Total drilled the Gengibre-1 well to 4,432 m TD in 1,703 m water depth.

Total will perform geological and engineering studies to appraise the production discovery's potential.

Sociedade Nacional de Combustíveis de Angola is the block 32 concessionaire. Total operates the block with 30%. Its partners include Marathon Oil Co. 30%, Sonangol EP 20%, Esso Exploration and Production Angola Ltd. 15%, and Petrogal 5%.
