LONDON – Baron Oil has decided to exit a license on the Inner Moray Firth in the UK central North Sea.

License P2470 (Baron 15%) covered blocks 11/23, 11/24c and 11/25b, surrounding the Wick prospect. According to Baron, the partners submitted applications before the subsequent dry hole 11/24b-4 Wick well.

Although the blocks also contain the small Knockinnon oil discovery the prospectivity was downgraded by the well, which Baron and its partners drilled at the start of 2019.

Work commitments on the license comprised reprocessing of 3D seismic reprocessing, results of which were not encouraging.
