RIO DE JANEIRO – Brazil’s Agencia Nacional do Petroleo, Gas Natural e Biocombustiveis (ANP) has approved a temporary suspension of this year’s planned 17th oil and gas licensing round.

This is against a background of generally worsening economic conditions and the spread of the coronavirus. Close to 130 blocks across five basins were reportedly to be offered.

A new schedule will be drawn up for the bidding process, the ANP added.
