HONG KONG – CNOOC has started production from the Penglai 19-3 oilfield 1/3/8/9 comprehensive adjustment project in the south-central Bohai Sea.
The location is 216 km (134 mi) northwest of Tanggu and 80 km (50 mi) southeast of Penglai, in water depths of 27-33 m (88-108 ft).
Main production facilities include two wellhead platforms and a central processing platform, tied into existing infrastructure serving the Penglai 19-3 oil field.
Two wells are currently producing: CNOOC expects output to reach a peak of around 58,700 b/d in 2020.
The company operates the Penglai 19-3 oilfield, in partnership with ConocoPhillips.
Yuan Guangyu, CEO of CNOOC, said this project would “strongly support Bohai to stabilize its production at 30 million tons for another 10 years.”
