Deepsea Bergen to work on Glitne

The Petroleum Safety Authority Norway has granted Statoil ASA consent to use the mobile installation Deepsea Bergen for production drilling on Glitne.

The Petroleum Safety Authority Norway has granted Statoil ASA consent to use the mobile installationDeepsea Bergen for production drilling on Glitne.

The Glitne oil field, which came onstream at the end of August 2001, is in the Sleipner area of the North Sea, 40 km northwest of Sleipner Øst.

To achieve higher oil production, the plan is to drill and complete a sixth production well (well 15/6-A-6 H), which will be tied into the FPSO Petrojarl I production installation.

Well clean-up will also be carried out with the aid of the flare booms on theDeepsea Bergen.

Drilling operations are expected to start in the first half of April, as soon asDeepsea Bergen has completed an assignment on Heidrun. The drilling and completion operation will take 92 days.
