Tullow adds gas tiebacks

LONDON, UK --Tullow Oil's Thurne development in the UK southern North Sea is on track for first gas in August. The company recently drilled and tested the single development well, a tieback to the Thames production complex.
In May, Tullow also gained government sanction for its Wissey project in the same region, which will be developed through the Horne/Wren facilities via a single subsea well. This should come on stream in August 2008 at an initial rate of around 55MMcf/d of gas.
The company also is participating in the K4 gas discovery, which probably will be factored into ConocoPhillips' ongoing Kelvin development. Another well exploring the nearby Harrison structure should be spudded shortly.
This February, Tullow secured three blocks in the undrilled Alentejo basin off Portugals' southwest coast. It plans a detailed 2D seismic infill program across the acreage next year.
