ABERDEEN, UK --Wet gas has started flowing from StatoilHydro's Statfjord field in the Norwegian North Sea to the St. Fergus processing terminal in eastern Scotland.

Supplies are heading through the new Tampen pipeline linking the Norwegian and UK gas trunkline network. Gas feeds through the Shell/ExxonMobil-owned Flags pipeline system to St. Fergus, where the natural gas liquids are stripped out for onward transportation to an NGL plant down the coast in Fife. The dried gas heads directly into the UK's national transmission network.
