HOUSTON –BPZ Resources Inc. has leased two oil transport tankers from the Peruvian navy and plans to use them to start production at 2,500 b/d of oil in early November.

BPZ had leased two barges to be used as an FPSO and transport barge, but reports delays in outfitting and equipping the barges at Paita. One barge will be moored at the CX11 platform for storage and the other will move crude from Corvina field in Z-1 to the refinery in Talara. Once these barges join the development, BPZ expects production to rise to 4,000 b/d of oil.
