Lundin starts work on Broom

Lundin Petroleum has started drilling its latest development well on the Broom field in the UK northern North Sea.

STOCKHOLM, Sweden --Lundin Petroleum has started drilling its latest development well on the Broom field in the UK northern North Sea.

The semisubmersibleGSF Arctic II is drilling well 2/5-25 as a side track of an existing producer on the West Heather structure. If successful, it will be a tieback to the Heather platform and should come on stream early in 2008, with pressure support from existing injection wells.

Lundin estimates Broom's remaining proven and probable reserves at 30.9 MMboe, with total recoverable reserves for the field of 54.7 MMboe.
