Thailand extends Bongkot production period

The government of Thailand has extended for 10 years the production for Bongkot gas field. The field consists of blocks B15, B16, and B17. The joint venture partners now can continue production in B15 until 2022, and in blocks B16 and B17 until 2023.

PARIS –The government of Thailand has extended for 10 years the production for Bongkot gas field. The field consists of blocks B15, B16, and B17. The joint venture partners now can continue production in B15 until 2022, and in blocks B16 and B17 until 2023.

Bongkot produces 600 MMcf/d of natural gas and 18,000 b/d of condensate, says Total. Three new discoveries are scheduled to go online in 2009.

Bongkot is operated by PTT Exploration and Production Plc. with a 44.45% interest. The remaining stakes are owned by Total (33.33%) and BG Asia Pacific Pte. Ltd. (22.22%).
