OSLO, Norway --Talisman Energy Norge is to redevelop the Yme field in the Norwegian North Sea, formerly produced by Statoil before being abandoned. Under a proposed $655 million project, the company plans a first phase of development via a leased jack-up production platform resting on a steel storage tank fixed to the seabed.

SBM will provide the platform, while theMaersk Giant will drill the first phase wells. Talisman expects to drill a total of 12 producer and injector wells, of which five will be completed subsea.

The company expects to produce around 70MM bbl of reserves over the field's life (some yet to be proven), and the facilities may also host production in future from other nearby finds in the Egersund basin. Yme and Rev, another of Talisman's Norwegian sector developments, should add over 40,000 boe/d to the company's production in 2009.
