Maersk Oil Qatar plans to upgrade the Al-Shaheen block 5 facilities with Merpro's sand handling and produced water treatment technology.

MONTROSE, Scotland -- Maersk Oil Qatar plans to upgrade the Al-Shaheen block 5 facilities with Merpro's sand handling and produced water treatment technology. The project totals more than £9 million ($17.9 million).

The project includes installation of Merpro's ToreOVD system inside all the separators for online sand removal, Merpro's ToreScrub system for sand cleaning and transportation, as well as a complete produced water treatment package comprising of Hydrocyclones and the MerproMBF (Micro Bubble Floatation) technology.
