STAVANGER, Norway --Talisman Energy Norge has proven additional reserves in the Rev discovery in Norwegian North Sea block 15/12. This follows an appraisal well drilled by the Maersk Giant in water depths of 87 m (285 ft).

Well 15/12-17 S extended to a total depth of 3,371 m (11,060 ft), before being terminated in Permian age rock, with a sidetrack drilled into Triassic rocks.

The well encountered gas with associated condensate in late Jurassic sandstones. The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate's analysis suggests Rev has recoverable reserves of around 5 bcm (177 bcf) of gas and 0.8 MMcm (28 bcf) of condensate. Talisman and Petoro, its partner in the production license, are working on development plans; the rig has since moved on to drill appraisal well 7/11-11 S for Talisman in the Mime field.
