BRISTOL, UK -- Process system integrator DPS (Bristol) has won a topsides study contract from FPSO operator BW Offshore.

DPS will perform a process verification study for the BW Carmen (previously Crystal Sea) topsides, an FPSO that the company has worked on over the past 18 years. DPS was involved in the initial design, and has maintained an involvement via operations, re-certification and upgrade programs as the vessel has shuttled between various fields.

The latest study concerns the vessel’s imminent deployment to Ithaca’s Athena field development in the UK central North Sea.

Recently DPS completed an EPC and engineering services contract for the process topsides on BW Offshore’s BW Pioneer FPSO, destined for service in the deepwater US Gulf of Mexico. Offshore Vietnam, the company is also working for EMAS and Premier Oil on the Chim Sao FPSO.
