HOUSTON -- Dresser-Rand Group has won contracts valued at $120 million-plus to supply turbo-machinery for four new FPSO projects.

Three of the FPSOs are destined for Petrobras' pre-salt oil fields in the Santos basin offshore Brazil, and one for the UK sector of the North Sea. Deliveries will include 14 centrifugal compressor trains comprising 18 casings, two DR-61G (LM2500) mechanical-drive gas turbines, and four DR-61GP (LM2500+) gas turbine generator sets.

The compressor trains will be manufactured at the company’s facilities in Le Havre, northern France, and Olean, New York. Dresser-Rand’s Kongsberg gas turbine packaging center will manufacture the gas turbine generator sets.

According to Dresser-Rand, the packages will feature some of the highest-density re-injection compressors built to date, such as the 550 bar (7,975 psi) units to compress a 35+ mole weight natural gas/CO2 blended stream, and CO2 compressors to re-inject carbon dioxide to pressures of over 300 bar (4,350 psi).

Two of the four FPSO projects involve relocation of existing vessels and required very short cycle times, the company adds. The vessels will be capable of producing and treating 100-120,000 b/d of oil, with gas compression capacities of up to 150 MMcf/d.
