Statoil hands Aker platform inspection role

Statoil has contracted Aker Offshore Partner for inspection services on 11 platforms on the Norwegian shelf.

STAVANGER, Norway -- Statoil has contracted Aker Offshore Partner for inspection services on 11 platforms on the Norwegian shelf.

The frame agreement lasts for four years, with optional extensions of up to four more. The likely value is around $28.4 million.

Aker will provide services at Statfjord A, B and C; and Gullfaks A, B, and C in the North Sea; and at Kristin, Åsgard A and B; Heidrun, and Njord in the Norwegian Sea. Its remit extends to three onshore plants at Mongstad, Kollsnes, and Sture.

Typically, the scope involves annual inspection programs and performance of in-service inspection for static processing equipment and structures such as piping, valves, and pressure tanks for processing, utility, and drilling facilities.

Aker will manage the program from Bergen, Norway, with inspection engineering handled at Aker Solutions divisions in Stavanger, Bergen, Mongstad, and Trondheim.
