WELLINGTON -- AWE has delayed recommencement of production from the Pateke-3H well in the Tui area offshore New Zealand.
The well underwent a flow clean-up operation before theKan Tan IV rig left the site on October 15, with the well repair activities having been successfully completed.
However, re-establishment of full oil production from the well (3,000 b/d) has encountered further constraints.
According to partner New Zealand Oil & Gas, AWE, in consultation with its technical advisors, is reviewing the issue with a view to determining the cause and the most efficient remedy.
Production from three other wells in the Tui area continues at around 7,000 b/d.
