CALGARY, Alberta -- Production from the M07-A field in the Dutch North Sea remains shut-in, says operator Cirrus Energy. The stoppage is due to continuing gas processing issues caused by problems with the hydrate inhibitor regeneration system at the third party-operated L09-FF platform. The equipment is used by three satellite production platforms, including M07-A.

A program is under way to determine what repairs and modifications are needed to reinstate production from the satellite platforms, but recommencement of production operations is unlikely before Nov. 8, the company says.

Cirrus is evaluating options to modify the M07-A production platform to remove its dependence on the L09-FF hydrate inhibitor regeneration system.

The overhaul could be completed during 1Q 2011, but a permanent solution may take longer. Changes to the gas process system also will necessitate agreeing new commercial terms with the L09-FF operator. On re-start of operations at L09-FF, Cirrus expects production of 30.5 MMcf/d from the M07-A field.
