RIO DE JANEIRO – Production is under way from the Capixaba FPSO in Cachalote field offshore Brazil, says Petróleo Brasileiro S.A. The FPSO also will connect to the Baleia Franca field, which also is in the Whales Park area on the southern coast of Espirito Santo in Campos basin, as is Cachalote.
The FPSO is planned to connect ultimately to nine wells with peak production by year end of 100,000 b/d of oil. The first well is 7-CHT-5HA-ESS with a production capacity of 22, 000 b/d. The nine total wells are to consist of three production and two injection wells for Cachalote and three production wells and one injection well for Baleia Franca.
