Petróleo Brasileiro S.A. has signed a Letter of Intent with SBM Offshore NV and Queiroz Galvão Óleo e Gás S.A. to construct an FPSO for the second pilot project at the pre-salt Tupi area of Santos basin offshore Brazil.

RIO DE JANEIRO -- Petróleo Brasileiro S.A. has signed a Letter of Intent with SBM Offshore NV and Queiroz Galvão Óleo e Gás S.A. to construct an FPSO for the second pilot project at the pre-salt Tupi area of Santos basin offshore Brazil.
Plans call for the FPSO to go into Tupi Nordeste 265 km (165 mi) offshore in 2,130 m (6,988 ft) water depth. The FPSO is to have a production capacity of 120,000 b/d of light oil and 5 MMcm/d (177 MMcf/d) of natural gas.
The plan calls for delivery of the FPSO in 34 months.
BM-S-11 is operated by Petrobras (65%), in partnership with BG E&P do Brasil Ltda. (25%), and Petrogal Brasil/Galp Energia (10%).
