ASSALUYEH, Iran -- Gas yield from the Ferdowsi and Golshan offshore fields in the North Pars region of the Persian Gulf could reach 60 tcf, according to a report by Iranian news service Shana.

Pars Oil and Gas Co.’s managing director, Ali Vakili, gave this estimate while commenting on progress on Ferdowsi, development of which was awarded to Malaysia’s SKS Co. in 2007.

Vakili said the field, with reserves estimated at 9-13 tcf, should produce 500 MMcf/d once development is complete. He assessed Golshan’s gas potential at 49 tcf.

The two fields are 180-190 km (112-118 mi) southeast of Bushehr.
