Go-ahead for Marulk

Norway’s government has approved the development plan for the Marulk gas field in the Norwegian Sea, according to partner DON Energy.

COPENHAGEN, Denmark -- Norway’s government has approved the development plan for the Marulk gas field in the Norwegian Sea, according to partner DON Energy.

Marulk holds estimated reserves of 71 MMboe, and should be in production by spring 2012.

Earlier this year the Norwegian authorities gave operator Eni permission to sign construction contracts prior to approval of the development plan.
