HONG KONG -- The WeiZhou11-1 east (WZ11-1E) and BoZhong (BZ) 3-2 fields are onstream, says operator CNOOC.
WZ11-1E is in the BeiBu Gulf basin in 40 m (131 ft) of water. Production is via facilities on the adjacent WZ 11-1 field. Three wells are currently online and the field is expected to hit its peak production of more than 3,000 b/d within the year.
BZ 3-2 is in the central part of Bohai Bay, 20 km (12 mi) southeast of producing field Qinhuangdao 32-6. The field is developed using a self-elevating producing platform and is currently producing from seven wells. BZ 3-2 is projected to reach peak production of 4,800 b/d within the year.
“We have accumulated a set of effective technologies for marginal fields based on rolling development and regional development during our offshore operations,” says Chen Bi, executive VP of CNOOC. “The application of these technologies has contributed greatly to the successful development of WZ 11-1E and BZ 3-2.”
