SINGAPORE -- SembCorp Marine's Maua Jurong yard in Brazil won a $550 million contract from Companhia Mexilhao do Brazil to build PMXL-1 fixed gas production platform to be installed off Brazil.

Construction begins immediately with delivery by November 2008.

The platform has a 12,000 metric ton deck with gas production capacity of 15 MMcm/d. Installation is slated for Mexihao gas field in Santos basin in 172 m of water.

From PMXL-1, the produced gas will go through submarine pipelines to the shore gas processing plant and forward to the National Pipeline Grid, both operated by Petrobras, Brazil's national oil company.
