CNOOC begins new Bohai Bay production

The Caofeidian (CDF) 11-6/12-1S oilfield in Bohai Bay has started producing from three wellhead platforms.

HONG KONG -- The Caofeidian (CDF) 11-6/12-1S oilfield in Bohai Bay has started producing from three wellhead platforms.

The CNOOC Ltd. unified fields in blocks 04/36 and 05/36, with water depths of 22-30 m, share production facilities with fields CFD 11-1/11-2. Oil goes via a 13-km subsea pipeline to theHai Yang Shi You 112 FPSO.

When 10 wells are on production by the end of this month, production will reach 15,000 b/d of oil.

CNOOC holds 51% interests of the fields while Anadarko holds 29.18% interests and acts as the operator. Newfield Exploration Co. and a subsidiary of Ultra Petroleum own the remaining 12% and 7.82%, respectively.
