Njord platform shutdown allows installation of modules for gas export project
Offshore staff
OSLO, Norway -- Hydro has shut down the Njord production platform for eight days, as part of the field's gas export project. The main purpose is to install eight new pre-fabricated modules in the platform's process facility.
Until now, the field has produced oil exclusively. Next summer, Hydro will install two gas export modules, with first gas shipments expected in October 2007. The main remaining task this year is cover the subsea production pipelines laid earlier this fall.
