OSLO, Norway -- Production from Fram East in the Troll area began this week. Peak production will rise to 50,000 b/d of oil. This is the second field in the areas to reach commercial production.
Fram East was developed with two subsea production templates with a total of eight drilling slots connected to the Troll C platform where oil and gas are processed and transported. The field is producing from the first production well that was drilled by theBideford Dolphin.
In the future, the rig will return to Fram to drill wells for production and water injection. A total of five production wells and two water injection wells are planned at Fram East.
PL 090 Fram owners are Hydro (operator), 25%; ExxonMobil, 25%; Statoil, 20%; Idemitsu, 15%; and Gaz de France, 15%.
