HONG KONG -- The Huizhou 21-1 gas field in Pearl River Mouth basin has resumed production after being hit by Typhoon Koppu, CNOOC reports.

On Sept. 14, CNOOC suspended production after Typhoon Koppu damaged part of the field’s production facilities. The field resumed to pre-typhoon levels of production on Oct. 5, supplying 45 MMcf/d of natural gas to downstream users.

The FPSO Nanhai Faxian has been disconnected and sailed to a safe area as planned. First cargo of oil has been successfully lifted, the company says.
