LONDON -- Natural gas production has begun from the Savonette field, offshore Trinidad, according to operator BP Trinidad and Tobago (bpTT). Production is expected to average 600 MMcf/d of gas (plus associated condensate) from four wells.

Production from the platform is tied into bpTT's Mahogany B platform via a 26-in. (66-cm) diameter 5.3-mi (8.5-km) long subsea pipeline. Gas is processed and then exported into existing infrastructure. Gas from Savonette will supply Atlantic LNG's liquefaction plant for export as LNG to domestic and international markets.
