First LNG cargo loaded from Sakhalin II plant

The first scheduled Russian LNG cargo has been successfully loaded from the Sakhalin II LNG plant onto the LNG carrier Energy Frontier, according to Sakhalin Energy.

YUZHNO-SAKHALINSKI -- The first scheduled Russian LNG cargo has been successfully loaded from the Sakhalin II LNG plant onto the LNG carrier Energy Frontier, according to Sakhalin Energy.

The vessel departed Prigorodnoye port on March 29 bound for Sodegaura terminal, Tokyo Bay, with a cargo of 145,000 cu m of LNG. This consignment, the first ever Russian gas to be delivered to Japan, will be taken by Tokyo Gas and Tokyo Electric.

Year round export of oil from Prigorodnoye began in December 2008 and will reach peak production in 2010.
