Smit Lamnalco lands Iraq offloading maintenance role

Petrofac has contracted Smit Lamnalco for operations and maintenance of four single-point mooring (SPM) systems offshore southern Iraq.

PAPENDRECHT, the Netherlands – Petrofac has contracted Smit Lamnalco for operations and maintenance of four single-point mooring (SPM) systems offshore southern Iraq.

The systems are 20 km (12.4 mi) off the Al Fao Peninsula and are part of theIraq Crude Oil Export Expansion Project.

The contract runs for up to three years, starting from November, with two annual extension options, with a total potential value of $200 million.

Smit Lamnalco plans to acquire seven new vessels to support the contract.
