Apache addresses North Sea Forties production obstruction
Offshore staff
WICKWAR, UK –Apache has contracted Alderley Systems to supply a processing system capable of removing produced water for the Forties Bravo platform in the UK central North Sea.
The platform currently produces hydrocarbons using downhole electrical submersible pumps, with production exported via a subsea pipeline to theForties Charlie platform for processing.
The aim of the project is to install sufficient equipment on Bravo to reduce the water cut of the production fluids to Charlie and to clean up waste and solids.
Alderley will supply a V-2311B sand cleanup vessel, made from duplex stainless steel and incorporating de-sanding hydrocyclone liners.
The equipment is designed to remove entrained oil from the main partial processing hydrocyclone package and degasser vessel and to provide storage of cleaned slurry for subsequent disposal overboard.
Alderley has already constructed and pressure tested the vessel, and fabrication for the project is well under way.
