IKM wins Gjøa platform operations

STAVANGER, Norway -- StatoilHydro has awarded the main operations support contract for the Gjøa platform in the North Sea to IKM Gruppen AS.
The contract will be formally signed between Gaz de France Norge and IKM Gruppen AS.
Under the agreement, 55 contractors will be hired for the operating organizations in Stavanger, Florø, and for the Gjøa platform offshore. IKM also will deliver engineering services in Florø. The contract will run for five years, with an option to extend for two years. The contract is worth $81 million, including the option.
"Gaz de France Norge looks forward to establishing and developing an effective operating organization for the Gjøa field in collaboration with IKM Gruppen," says Kjell Ola Jørgensen, Gjøa operations manager for Gaz de France Norge.
The partners in the Gjøa license are: StatoilHydro (operator in the development phase) 20%, Gaz de France Norge (operator in the operating phase) 30%, Petoro 30%, Shell 12% and RWE Dea 8%.
