The StatoilHydro-operated Volve field in the North Sea is onstream.

STAVANGER, Norway -- The StatoilHydro-operated Volve field in the North Sea is onstream.

Oil from the field will be produced through the jackupMærsk Inspirer and the Navion Saga will be used as a storage vessel for further transport.

Gas will be sent to the Sleipner A platform for final processing and export, with recoverable reserves estimated at 78.6 MMbbl of oil and 1.5 bcm of gas. Production from Volve is expected to reach plateau production of 50,000 b/d by the end of 1Q 2009.
