Jura field delivers first gas

Total has first gas from its Jura field in the Alwyn area of the UK North Sea.

PARIS -- Total has first gas from its Jura field in the Alwyn area of the UK North Sea. It is 100% owned and operated by Total.

The HP/HT field has proved and probable reserves of 170 MMboe. It lies in block 3/15 in the northern North Sea in 113 m (371 ft) of water.

Production is expected to ramp up to 6.5 MMcm/d of gas at plateau, according to Total. With 6,000 b/d of liquids also being produced, this will give a combined total production capacity of around 50,000 boe/d.
