Horizon West costs escalate

THE HAGUE, The Netherlands --Chevron is finalizing a development plan and budget for the Horizon West oil field in the Dutch North Sea.
According to partner Stratic Energy, the budget has risen following a front-end engineering and design study that recommended use of a heavyweight jackup drilling rig and more extensive modifications to the designated host platform.
The partners now aim to secure approval for the development, followed by drilling in the second half of 2008.
