PERTH, Australia -- An ROV has inspected subsea components and mooring and riser system of the Galoc FPSO offshore Palawan, Philippines, and has discovered damage on one of the upper riser sections.
Galoc Production Co. (GPC) had to disconnect the FPSO from the mooring and riser system because of typhoon Frank (FengShen).
Replacement riser sections from Singapore have arrived in the field. Before replacement and reconnection, the mooring and riser systems are being recovered and will undergo surface inspection as well as pressure testing of the umbilical. An additional vessel equipped with a workclass ROV spread has been mobilized to assist in the repairs.
First oil is now anticipated for early August 2008.
