RIO DE JANEIRO – OGX Petróleo e Gás Participações reports conclusion of a drillstem test in the Santonian section of well 1-OGX-11D-SPS in block BM-S-59 in 180 m (590 ft) of water in Santos basin 84 km (52 mi) offshore Brazil.

“The drillstem test performed in the Natal accumulation was marked by significant flow rates and confirmed the existence of an important gas and condensate center in the region,” said Paulo Mendonça, general executive and exploration officer of OGX.

OGX estimates a production potential of 1 MMcm/d (35 MMcf/d) of gas and 1,200 b/d of condensate in a vertical well, which could reach up to 5 MMcm/d (177 MMcf/d) of gas and 6,000 b/d of condensate through a horizontal well.
