HHI to build two gas platforms for offshore West Africa

Hyundai Heavy Industries has won a $900-million contract to build two offshore platforms to go to West Africa.

ULSAN, South Korea – Hyundai Heavy Industries has won a $900-million contract to build two offshore platforms to go to West Africa. Hyundai will perform all the engineering, procurement, construction, installation, and commissioning under the contract.

One platform will weigh 11,000 tons and process 120 MMcf/d of gas. The second platform will weigh 5,000 tons and produce 300 MMcf/d of gas.

The schedule calls for the structures to be deployed by the end of 2014.
