ABERDEEN, UK – Dana Petroleum has boosted oil production from the Hanze field in the Dutch North Sea via a newly onstream infill well.

Initial flow from well A06, drilled by the jackupNoble Lynda Bossler, is around 3,500 b/d, almost doubling the field’s existing production. The well should remain in service for the next few years.

This is one of five infrastructure-led wells that Dana is currently drilling in the Dutch sector. Earlier this year the company drilled the P11-08 exploration well in license P10a from itsDe Ruyter platform. Results are under evaluation.

Netherlands managing director Nick Dancer said: “We have strong exploration and production expertise in our Dutch team and we were able to bring the new Hanze production online quickly after discovery.”
